Rally
There are a few different kinds of rallies...Gimmick and Time Speed and Distance being two of the most popular. This rally is a T S and D...the concept is simple...Everyone starts from the same spot...Everyone travels over a set course with a set of written directions to guide them...All cars are expected to travel the set course at a prescribed speed...The driver and navigator who travel the course at the closest to the set speed is the winner of the rally...
For example: All the cars will travel a course(over 60 miles) at an expected speed of 42.26 miles per hour...There will be a set start time for each car...There will be at least 1 minute separation between start times thereby giving each car an independent space to drive at their speed...Let's say that at that speed the course takes 1:20:45...Each car at the end of the rally finish line gets a time...Car number 5 comes in at 1:21:20 which is 35 seconds off the set time...another car comes in 45 seconds off the set time...Car number 5 wins because his/her time is closest to the correct time for the designated miles per hour...
All times will be kept by the organizer and are hand held with a stop watch...
At 7:00 PM, the night before the rally, the course directions and course map will ber published here...Each driver are able at that time look at the course, become familiar with the course and determine how long it should take to travel the course at the given rally speed...The rally speed will be a comfortable pace which will not require any kind of speeding...For the most part the total time needed to compete the course will be at or 1 or 2 mph slower than each section's speed limit...So while it is a competition you can also enjoy the scenery and the twists and turns that sports cars love...
This is a weather dependent event...Rain cancels the rally...
