Hope Valley Drive (Revision)

In keeping with the original intention of this group that driving is more important than eating...On Friday, October 23,  Murieta Sports Cars is planning a drive to the Hope Valley at the Hope Valley Resort & Campground, along the banks of the West Fork Carson River.

The run is approximately one hour and forty-five minutes, along back roads, with one restroom break along the way. This is a beautiful and fun drive where we will enjoy the changing of the leaves.

There are picnic tables outside the Café, and a sitting area by the river. We will be bringing our own folding chairs and food for distance eating by the river if you so choose.   In other words the eating is optional.   If you wish to find someplace other than the end of the drive go for it.  The Café has beverages and home-made desserts.  They also have a restroom.

We will meet at the Bel Air parking lot at 8:30 am, leaving promptly at 9:00 am. Masks, outside the cars, are required for everyone attending the run.  We will start out south on Hwy 16, through Plymouth and Fiddletown, onto Hwy 88, then up to Hope Valley.  The address is 14655 CA-88, Hope Valley, Ca, 96120.

Instead of dividing up the cars by kind, we will divide up the cars by desired rate of speed.  Those determining they would like to travel at a slightly higher rate will line up behind Rick’s Porsche.  Those wishing to travel at a more "touring" less speedy rate will line up behind Jack’s car.  Keep in mind this is the honor system so stay within your experience and comfort level and remain safe at all times.  Also remember that if your rate of speed is slower than those behind you pull over and let the cars wishing to drive faster pass you by.  But do not pass the leader.  If there are any questions you can start by reading the Rules of the Road on this website.

Written directions will be handed out the day of the run to everyone who RSVPs.  If you haven't yet, please download the waiver, sign and bring it with you.  The return trip is on your own.  There are three or four alternatives.

RSVP:  Please RSVP by clicking on the link below by October 20 if you plan to attend if you have not done so previously.  Hope to see you on October 23
